I have not done this for a while, been involved in a play (The Drunkard). Thought about training at the “Mecca” but didn’t get the lead, which was a blessing as I had a tough time learning my meager 19 lines. We have 3 more performances this weekend and that will be it. At leat they have not stoned me as yet.

Next weekend we go to the Bay Area for Matt’s memorial. Perhaps I will; get some closing from that. I will go up next Thursday and don’t know when I shall return.

I have been playing more golf this month. Neil and Jill were here for last Sunday performance and we play at Three Rivers with Jeff. Was such a pretty day. Not the best course in the World but the best place in the World to be that day. It has been so beautiful here in the Valley. Some of those days you want to live forever.`

I am at it again–new poem. Could offend some folks, but I think it funny.

Sometimes I wonder, what’s the use

To think about the universe.

Outer space that is so vast,

It tends to leave us all aghast.

I ponder just how big it can be

To extend into eternity?

I burn my brain until I’m weary

At what they call the big bang theory.

Could it be true? One doubt will linger.

Who was there to pull God’s finger?

In looking back at the Family trauma, I am so thankful and proud of how my kids and their spouses responded. It solidified the family even more. All of them gave what needed to be done. I spent 3 months back in Louisiana but these kids did the heavy lifting during the last month. Chris and Theresa took him into their home when they knew how bad it would get. And Matt did appreciate them all. The last thing he said to me was “They really do love me.”

We got through Christmas okay althoug it was different of course. All that is left of my immediate family got together here in Porterville. Nicki did most of the cooking and we feasted on tamales for Christmas dinner compete with lemon pie. The family has always been close but now it seems to have gotten stronger because of M att’s passing. We did take pictures of the group and maybe I can get Nicki to forward a shot or two. Christmas was not all that happy but satisfying.

Nicki and I are going up to Pacific Grove to visit Les and Winnie and take in First Night in . Monterey good way to start out the New Year and New Decade . Hope it is a good one for us all, especially for you.

Sad new time. My Son Matt passed away last Saturday evening Dec. 19. He put up a good battle but the odds were against him. He is the third I have lost plus a great wife and this was the toughest. Four months of hurt and pain. He was one tough cookie. I am not a fan of suffering, it is a bunch of crap and unnecessary. It leaves me very angry.

He went quietly and realized how much people loved him and seemed surprised. He had a solidifying effect on the family. We will miss him greatly.

Probably the worlds shortest poem. It could be taken as a poem seduction–depending on how filthy your mind is.

TIME TO GUEAX

Farewell to you ol’ Louisiana

I’m cutting out of here manana.

It has been okay, I don’t regret it.

But for now let’s just forget it.

The traffic here, what a waste of gas

Staring at red for permission to pass

The sky so blue, the clouds seaux fluffy.

I just can’t seem to get enoughy.

The Summer here I won’t forget,

I didn’t I know I had that much sweat.

The oak trees are seaux pretty

I had to include them in this poor diddy

For the sunsets seaux plain

I have a solution.

You have to dial-up more pollution.

The direction here gave me a test’

Where is East and which is West.

The Greatgrandkids are deauxing great

but I must get back to the Golden State.

The Cajun Fare I gave a geaux

The gumbeaux, the beauxdan

I’ll let yeaux kneaux.was okay

But just seaux seaux.

Seaux addeaux teaux yeaux

There is nothing I lack.

But I’ll bet you a buck

Nicki and I went up to San Mateo for Thanksgiving with Theresea and Chris and or course to visit with Matt. They have fixed up a nice room for him so he is comfortable–mostly. He does have some bad times but Theresea takes care of it. He is on a moraphine pump now so can handle the pain better. Nicki will go back up in a couple weeks and give Chris and Tree a break. I was so stupid to think I could handle the situation. He is in good hands.

farewell to LA revised11/9/09

Chris and Steve are here to get us out of here. Steve wil drive me to Calif tomorow and Chris will fly with Matt later in the week. It has been a long struggle but we made it. So I have concocted a little ode to this great state. I’ll see if I can forward it.

I have not put anytthing on the blog lately as not much going on that is new. We are shooting for Nov. 15th to move Matt to Calif. He will have to fly and Chris or Steve will go with him. I like LA okay but have had enough.

Went to a concert by Clint Black for the Myles Perrett Foundation that has very helpfull with Matt’s treatment. Thought I should contribut something. SSat by a nice couple and enjoyed them letting me talk. Sometimes I feel so alone and some depressed. I may be human afterall.
